ROLE DEFINITION
We are looking for Technical Associate Investigators with a strong hands-on background in chemical process and Product development. This position involves the development and piloting of novel chemical processes, material processing, and supporting technology transfer through to commercialization.
As the project work evolves, flexibility will be required in terms of willingness to take on different work and to be flexible in work schedules (eg. Some short periods of shiftwork may be required).

Your key responsibilities will be/what you’ll do:
Work within a multi-disciplined team, focused on technology research and development aimed at creating opportunities for business growth and renewal.
Participate in the various stages of technology research and development, from concept through to commercialization.
Work in an environment that is continuously improving and evolving to meet the changing needs of our customers.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements:
BS or College Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, Material Engineering or equivalent relevant education and experience.
Hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: chemical process development, material processing, reaction engineering, laboratory and small scale pilot processes design/build/operation.
Preference will be given to individuals with chemical process development and material processing experience.
Strong desire to commercialize technology and a results-oriented mentality.
Familiarity with lab to pilot scale-up.
Experience specifying, assembling and operating chemical process equipment is preferred
Experience with P&ID, mass & energy balance, Process Hazard Analysis is preferred
Demonstrated experience with MS Office suite, simulation and process controls tools (e.g.: ASPEN Plus; IP21- Batch21 ; FT-View), advanced statistical tools (Minitab, JMP) and advanced data visualization and analytics tools (e.g. power BI) would be an asset.
Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams.
Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Experience working with equipment suppliers and contractors is preferred
