Google Senior Technical Program Manager, Google Cloud Platform in Kirkland, Washington

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 10 years of experience in program management, technical program management, engineering management or platform product management.

  • Experience leading teams to drive business results.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • 10 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.

  • 10 years of experience with cloud computing platforms.

  • Experience developing and reviewing technical requirements, design documents, product life-cycle processes, setting technical goals, and resolving technical tradeoffs between teams.

  • Experience building, operating, and delivering distributed cloud hosted software systems.

  • Experience with program management tools (e.g., Jira or Asana) and methodologies (e.g., Scrum or Kanban).

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible to direct a portfolio of strategic multidisciplinary programs. You will lead a team that works with engineering, product, and other stakeholders to define, plan, execute, and deliver programs that significantly accelerate the business impact of your organization and product area. In this role, you will work with stakeholders to create a foundational cross-platform product suite that empowers SaaS operators to build, deploy, and operate SaaS offerings at scale across multiple environments.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $214,000-$305,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Lead strategic planning frameworks for a program portfolio including influence over resourcing decisions, planning cadence, and planning stakeholders.

  • Establish portfolio reviews, decision making, prioritization.

  • Communicate and influence on multiple levels (e.g., leadership team, engineers, cross-discipline stakeholders, partners, and customers).

  • Coordinate with multiple stakeholders and solve problems.

  • Initiate and lead multiple organizations through changes to address shifts in business trends and priorities.
