Summary You will serve as a BARGE AND SERVICE CRAFT PROJECT MANAGER in the OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will be responsible for the planning, directing, coordinating, and accomplishments of all production efforts on all shifts department wide. You will serve as the final approval authority for barge execution schedules enduring appropriate work-to-milestones and milestone-to-key event sequencing. You will oversee and manage all non-nuclear repair and maintenance of all barges. You will develop new production techniques and procedures to improve productivity. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience performing duties requiring extensive technical and administrative knowledge in barge maintenance, operations, and Shop practices. Experience reviewing, coordinating, and advising production personnel on quality control, training, engineering support, and work management systems. Experience applying in-depth knowledge of towing procedures, make-up, and line handling for movement assistance work. Experience making independent management decisions, commitments recommendations based on his or her evaluations. Experience utilizing shipyard communication structures and channels.
