Responsibilities Perform cutting and grinding operations aboard ship and shop using various pneumatic or electric power tools and machines. Assist mechanic in removal and repair of all piping systems and equipment. Assist with measure lengths of pipe or tubing, and cut desired length with saw or tube cutter. Serves as a PIPEFITTER HELPER in the PIPE SHOP (CODE 960 SHOP 56), PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Interpret simple arithmetic in taking measurements.
