Core Responsibilities

In this role you will be supporting packing platform ownership processes and related activities to deliver sustainable solution for Packing & Packaging area focusing on sustainability. Moreover, you will:

  • Support platform owners and equipment managers by taking part in different activities e.g. designing, prototyping, shopfloor testing, preparation of the technical & troubleshooting guides

  • Provide technical guidance for development, design and construction of equipment in collaboration with suppliers

  • Lead successful design and strategic development reviews that involve system-level decisions/trade-offs

  • Work with both internal technical staff spanning multiple Engineering functions and strategic external partners to deliver integrated, manufacturable solutions at excellent quality and high volume to the market

  • Ensure solutions delivered meet end-user needs, safety/regulatory/quality requirements, and all other agreed-to business requirements

Our Research & Development, Packing and Packaging organization (R&D P&P) is located in Billund, DK and Kladno, CZ and consists of bunch of enthusiasts with innovative approach who assure our LEGO products are assembled and packed into newly developed sustainable packaging in the most efficient way. Deliver sustainable packaging is currently our no. 1 priority. Our team has a global responsibility for all packing equipment, and we lead projects with partners across all LEGO production sites.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Proven working experience in engineering area in global environment (due to daily communication in foreign language, dealing with different cultures, working across time zones)

  • Experience with development and construction of equipment would be amazing

  • Experience with procuring and installing new equipment

  • Knowledgeable about new technologies and innovative consumer trends

  • Able to read and write equipment design requirements

  • Ability to read/understand technical drawings (AutoCAD, 3D models)

  • Ability to understand and specify equipment documentation

  • Microsoft Office bundle at user level

  • English language in both written and spoken form

What would be an advantage:

  • Past experiences in technical development projects

  • Ability and experience with 3D modeling and designing

  • Understanding of safety and ergonomic requirements (e.g. Machine Safety directive, CE marking)

  • Knowledge of quality and lean tools is an advantage

  • Technical Secondary School or Degree at Technical University
