Landscape Worker & Special Event Helper, Destination Kohler

Work Mode: Onsite

Location: Kohler, WI

Opportunity

Join our dedicated maintenance and landscape team, where you’ll help nurture and preserve the unique beauty and charm of all corners of our world-class resort. In addition to general landscape maintenance responsibilities, also provide assistance to the special events team with setup and take down of tents and site furnishings.

Specific Responsibilities

Special Events:

  • Assist in the timely and safe assembly and disassembly of tents and related equipment.

  • Unload and carry equipment, materials, and supplies around the jobsite

  • Loading and unloading company trucks

  • Laying out of Terra Mats and/or plywood to protect turf areas

  • Preparing items for rental (cleaning, inspecting, counting, etc.)

  • Ability to adapt to and work well with changing priorities and situations

  • Ability to define and prioritize problems and resolve them quickly

  • Strong motivation who can work well with people at all levels

Landscaping:

  • Assist in the establishment of turf through seeding and sodding

  • Participate in mowing, trimming and edging of all turf areas

  • Plant trees, shrubs, perennials and annuals as directed

  • Perform hardscape maintenance on all assigned properties

  • Operate small, medium, and large sized equipment as directed to accomplish job assignments and perform preventive maintenance to equipment.

  • Observe all written standard operating procedures to provide a safe working environment for self, other associates, guests and the general public

This is a Seasonal position working from April to end of October. The typical work schedule is 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Flexibility to work occasional weekends is required.

Skills/Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older to apply

  • High School education required

  • Valid Driver's License

  • Basic knowledge of plants and their care preferred

  • General landscape or farm experience is a bonus

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis

The hourly range for this position is $18.00-$22 per hour. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
