Objectives of the Position

  • Manage LLP / LSP performance and deliverables, through close relationship and intensive collaboration.

  • Take care of service delivery management, service requests, structural and tactical escalation management.

  • Define, monitor, and analyze to service provider (LLP/LSP) performance against target KPI's and SLA's.

  • Analyze and provide opportunities for improvement, optimization, and effective management of LLP/LSP and carrier operations, incl. structural improvements with business units/service provider.

  • Support development of risk assessment as well as contingency plans, apply respective measures in collaboration with service providers.

Main Tasks

  • Manage and monitor LLP to ensure execution of import and export activities including controlling, monitoring, and expediting all import and export orders to BASF customers, production sites and warehouses in accordance to agreed delivery dates/periods.

  • 1 st level escalation on import/export issues from LLP

  • Coordinate daily performance meetings regarding LLP performance as well as participate in LSP/carrier performance review with LLP where appropriate.

  • Coordinate LLP reviews with immediate supervisor and regional OVM on monthly basis - Updating of process changes and information relevant to the operations of LLP. This includes training, sharing of country/destination/BU new requirements or new system updates to LLP.

  • To update management/procurement on the changes/updates in LLP or exceptional deviations from LLP scope - Responsible on Logistics Service Providers (LSP) performance management and KPIs monitoring. Coordinate meeting with LSP to close missing gaps and ensure KPI is met.

  • Consolidate and prepare LLP and LSP performance management reporting to regional OVM and immediate supervisor.

  • Maintain good working relationship with 3PL to ensure timely clearance and information sharing on any issues pertaining to cargo clearance status.

  • Consolidate all the input for KPI's and SLA's update vs target values; conduct regular review with immediate supervisor for detail assessment and solutioning.

  • Consolidate all input on contract management, tendering and implementation to BASF internal functions, e.g., legal, procurement, etc. for detail review with immediate supervisor.

  • Responsible for reviewing, auditing, and work with FCV, P2P or Procurement in correcting any inaccuracies, errors, or inefficiencies in freight cost data and related processes. Primary focus will be on conducting thorough audits, Internal identifying discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions to ensure accurate and optimized freight cost management.

  • Non-conformances management (NCM) and ensure reported issues are addressed with corrective action.

  • Provide training to LLP staff on operations and SAP related matters.

  • Identify opportunities for improvement through day-to-day activities evaluation of performance and service level agreements with LLP & LSP. Discuss and seek further recommendation from immediate supervisor on the feasibility of the opportunities.

  • Consolidate all the risk identified and conduct risk assessment review with immediate supervisor.

  • Execute contingency plans where required and derive appropriate updates to the contingency plan.

  • Monitor the LLP adherence to BASF standards, compliance procedures (regarding e.g., operations, cost, security, EHS, etc.), and to local, state, and federal regulatory requirements; escalate the non-compliance activities to immediate supervisor upon diagnosis.

  • Provide constructive support to immediate supervisor on change management in period of transition and implementation of alternative in case LLP need to be replaced.

  • Import, Export & Transport Management Executive back up in absence, and some part immediate supervisor backup where it’s within the competency

Requirements

  • Education : Degree in Logistics/Supply Chain or related field

  • WorkingExperience :4-5 years in handling Import/Export/ Order management & documentation, liaison with Shipping Liners & Forwarding Agents Customs Authority. Experience in SAP and chemical industry preferred.

  • Technical & Professional Knowledge :

  • Efficient in MS Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Knowledge in SAP system (Transport Management) preferred.

  • Have knowledge of IMDG, IATA, Supply Chain Processes, Transportation Management (Air, Maritime and surface)

  • Proactive team member who takes ownership and shows persistence to achieve results and exceed expectations.

  • Ability to work independently on problem solving and identifying solutions. ▪ Good interpersonal skills and a team player

  • Good command of written and spoken English is necessity
