Position Overview
As aSourcing ManageratPermobil Kunshan, China, you will play a vital role in strengthening our competitive advantage by effectively sourcing a diverse range of products, services, and solutions. You will oversee a dynamic supplier base across key categories such as plastic injection, wheels, and shock absorbers, while remaining open to managing other categories as needed. Your responsibilities will include optimizing costs, driving value creation, and maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. Additionally, you will provide essential support to New Product Development (NPD) projects and assignments and contribute to our environmental initiatives, such as CO2 reduction.
A critical aspect of your role will be assessing and improving supplier performance to ensure they consistently meet our high standards for quality, delivery, sustainability, and cost. Key Responsibilities
Category Management:
Develop and implement innovative category strategies for plastic injection, wheels, and shock absorbers.
Classify and segment suppliers, manage the approved supplier list, and monitor category performance.
Supplier Management:
Analyze spend and markets, mitigate risks, negotiate contracts, monitor performance, conduct audits, find new suppliers, and onboard them.
Drive supplier development and manage the phasing in and out of suppliers as needed.
Support for NPD Projects and Assignments:
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support New Product Development projects.
Ensure that sourcing strategies align with project timelines and requirements.
Operational Excellence:
Lead the RFx process and manage cost-saving initiatives.
Implement productivity improvements and optimize supplier performance.
Environmental Responsibility:
Contribute to environmental initiatives, focusing on CO2 reduction and sustainable sourcing practices.
Qualifications and Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, business, economics, or a related field.
Experience: Previous experience in sourcing, strategic purchasing, or supply chain roles, especially in categories like plastic injection, wheels, or shock absorbers.
Skills:
Strong understanding of supply chain management and contract negotiation.
Good financial skills to evaluate total supplier costs.
Proficiency in relevant IT systems, including Microsoft Office suite.
Technical understanding, including the ability to read and comprehend technical drawings.
Effective under pressure with strong logical and analytical thinking.
Strategic thinking with the ability to develop and implement category strategies.
Results-oriented, solution-focused, and detail-oriented.
Excellent relationship management and communication skills.
Fluent in English and Mandarin
