Job Summary:
The primary role is to manage sourcing activities associated with Trane Applied air and water-cooled chiller New Product Development (NPD) and Engineer to Order (ETO) projects and will be based in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The Procurement Program manager (PPM) is responsible for overseeing procurement deliverables associated with assigned ETO and/or NPD projects. Key tasks include working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment with the goal of defining and executing project and product plans, schedules, milestones, and business case goals. Additional activities include early supply chain involvement in conjunction with the design, product development, and commercialization process. Identify gaps to goals and collaboratively develop and support countermeasures and activities to close the gap and exceed targets. Work to align strategies between the project team, category management, and manufacturing locations to ensure supply chain optimization and product launch schedule compliance.

Where is the work:
This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite in our La Crosse, WI facility 3 days each week and is considered safety-sensitive.
What you will do:
Coordinate and align with category management teams, materials, operations, engineering, finance, quality, and aftermarket to complete project goals and expected tasks/deliverables within the project timeline.
Support New Product Development phase/gate activities via communicating and documenting sourcing requirements including supplier selection, supply chain resiliency plans, cost considerations, supply agreements, tooling expenditures and lead-time, etc.
Function as the lead procurement representative on the core, cross-functional project team.
Identify component, supplier, and category risks. Collaboratively develop and implement sourcing countermeasures and mitigation plans.
Strong influencing and negotiating skills across the organization. Ability to lead, develop, and motivate suppliers and cross-functional teams.
Manage the procurement capital and expense budget associated with the projects.
Facilitate early supplier selection and estimate purchased part component prototype and production pricing along with qualification timelines.
Work to align strategies between category management, project team, and strategic business unit goals.
Evaluate Trane Technologies' business needs against supplier capabilities in order to select preferred suppliers who meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements; leverage commercial knowledge to navigate supplier relationships and sourcing deliverables.
Identify and eliminate sourcing roadblocks and escalate issues as appropriate.
Define dual sourcing and/or qualification plans.
Support engineering validation builds and prototype sourcing activities.
Work with category managers to ensure supply agreements are in place to support new business awards.
Identify and document productivity opportunities.
What you will bring:
Bachelor's degree in business, integrated supply chain, or engineering preferred with a minimum of 5 years of previous work experience in a diversified industrial company in the areas of procurement, engineering, project management, quality, and/or manufacturing.
Strong sourcing experience in a wide variety of procurement categories. HVACR sourcing, product, and application knowledge is a plus.
Ability to understand and communicate technical information including component drawings, engineering standards, specifications, and part qualification plans.
Experience with Agile and Lean methodology, Oracle, and SCRUM preferred.
Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work independently, and think out of the box. Possesses skills to plan proactively, anticipate issues, and have excellent problem-resolution records with little or no input or assistance.
Competent with MS Excel and PowerPoint
Experience in supplier development, category management, materials, design engineering, project management, or supplier quality.
Must be an analytical thinker and have demonstrated experience driving strategies and mitigation plans.
Ability to travel independently up to 20%
Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $ 95,000-130,000/annually
