Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Product Development Engineer to join our Building Service team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the design, development, and enhancement of our service products. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, communication, and collaboration to drive projects to ensure the highest quality standards.

As a Product Development Engineer, you will work closely with a diverse team of engineers, designers, project managers, and other stakeholders to bring new products to market. You will be expected to contribute your technical knowledge and innovative ideas while also leveraging the strengths and expertise of your team members. Effective communication and collaboration are key, as you will be involved in cross-functional projects that require input from various departments including marketing, product management and field service members.

You will participate in regular team meetings and design reviews, where you will provide and receive constructive feedback. Your ability to work well within a team, share knowledge, and support your colleagues will be crucial to the success of our projects. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Where is the work:

This position has been designated as “ remote within a geography” and work will be performed in Lacrosse, WI (preferred location) or Davidson, NC.

Responsibilities:

  • Product Design and Development: Lead the design and development of new service products from concept through production. Utilize Bills of Material, DFMEAs and other engineering tools to create detailed designs and specifications.

  • Prototyping and Testing: Develop prototypes and conduct rigorous testing to validate product performance, reliability, and safety. Analyze test data and iterate designs, as necessary.

  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints. Coordinate with cross-functional teams including marketing, project managers and engineering teams around the globe.

  • Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design reviews, test plans, and installation guides.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for product and process improvements. Implement changes to enhance product quality, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.

  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure all products comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.

  • Customer Support: Provide technical support to customers and field service teams. Address and resolve product-related issues and inquiries.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

  • Experience: 5 years of experience in product development, preferably within the HVAC or building services industry.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD), simulation based testing, and other engineering tools. Strong understanding of HVAC systems and components.

  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage projects from concept to completion. Experience with project management software is a plus.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and develop innovative solutions.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive attitude

  • Ability to travel up to 20%

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $94,950 - $148,500

This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, experience and geographic location where the work is performed.
