Job Purpose
The operative buyer performs purchasing-to-pay activities, including master data management, PR-PO approvals, and spot buying. The job holder will provide a professional procurement service to MCG-NA to ensure all goods and services are purchased effectively on a day-to-day basis. The operative buyer will deliver an effective and efficient service whilst looking for continuous improvement opportunities. They will need to effectively collaborate with regional procurement teams and functional stakeholders. A combination of purchasing hard and soft skills is required, as well as commercial acumen.
Principal Accountabilities
Responsible for a set of purchase-to-pay activities, including purchase requisitions and effective orders processing within the North America region
Support the achievement of North America’s qualitative and quantitative purchase-to-pay procurement targets
Feed into and support the definition of operative buying targets in the region, according to Regional Hub operations and experience
Responsible for the effective ordering of goods and materials, according to business specifications, and category management terms and conditions in North America
Ensure transparency and integrity of external vendors and agreements (e.g., contracts, info records, etc.) master data, maintained according to terms and conditions established by category teams in North America
Effective collaborate within the Regional Hub team, and with category team and the wider North America procurement organization
Support, sponsor and ensure MCG’s purchasing activities deliver critical activities in the areas of ESG, KAITEKI, and HSE
Responsible for the compliance to procure-to-pay purchasing processes within North America, while proposing innovative approaches to enhance effectiveness and efficiency
Oversee team-wide risks that might affect business continuity and purchasing operations
Support MCG’s critical activities in the areas of ESG, KAITEKI, and HSE
Support efforts within MCG procurement organization to optimize and digitize transactional activities
Site(s) served: all North America
Expected suppliers/transactions managed: 200-500 suppliers/up to 5,000+ transactions
No direct reports expected; potentially trainees/student workers
Knowledge / Skills / Experience
Min 1+ years’ experience in purchasing in an international environment
High School Diploma or equivalent
Proficient in MS Office, spend analytics tools, e-sourcing platforms, project management and effective presentations
Advanced knowledge in ERP modules for procurement
Business fluent in English
Good decision making, in an evolving and quickly changing environment
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Building effective relationships with varied and international procurement teams
Ownership-oriented approach in the professional environment
High ethical standards
Familiarity with PR-PO processing and master data management practices
Experience in purchase-to-pay activities, and familiarity with ERPs, such as SAP

The salary range for this position is $64,846 - $97,344. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
