The Water Quality Program *within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a *Stormwater Project Specialist (Environmental Specialist 3) (In-Training) *position. This position is located in our *Headquarters Office in* *Lacey, WA.{target="_blank" rel="noopener"} Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.

Join the Ecology Stormwater Action Team (SWAT)! SWAT partners with local governments to implement stormwater quality, green infrastructure, and low-impact development projects. SWAT provides funding and technical assistance for an average of 250 to 300 active stormwater projects across the state of Washington and is responsible for the oversight of roughly $250 million state and federal dollars.     As a Stormwater Project Specialist, you will collaborate with a three-person Ecology project team to build relationships with local governments and assist them in navigating the Water Quality Combined Funding Program. You will work together with your team to answer questions about grant funding eligibility, monitor project progress and budgets, and ensure funding recipients understand and comply with all funding agreement conditions. In addition to providing technical assistance to funding recipients, you will participate in weekly SWAT team policy and coordination discussions and work in small groups to improve program guidance and streamline internal processes.

*Note: *This position offers a career path and on-the-job training. This position allows you to progress through the Environmental Specialist field and achieve the goal class of an Environmental Specialist 3. Candidates will be considered at the Environmental Specialist 2 and the Environmental Specialist 3 levels, depending on their qualifications.
