Parkview North Hospital Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in Lagrange, Indiana
Operates diagnostic sonography equipment and performs diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with department policy and procedures. Operates within the "Practice Standards" and "Code of Ethics" of the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. Works together with physicians to perform a variety of specialized procedures. Sets up and adjusts equipment to perform diagnostic procedures, and knowledge of imaging various anatomical structures. Is able to position patients to obtain images of the area of interest, while respecting the patient's ability and comfort. Obtains appropriate patient information for the procedure being completed. Utilizes PPE and other guidelines as needed. Recognizes emergent situations and activates assistance as needed. Assists other areas and shifts as needed.
Satisfactory completion of formal technology training.
Registered or registry eligible by America Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or American Radiologic Technology in ultrasound (ARRT ultrasound) and obtain valid certification within 24 months of graduation from an approved ultrasound training program or completion of approved cross training. (Encourage advanced certifications.) CPR Certification.
Previous experience in ultrasound preferred, but not required, or previous experience in a similar role.
