JOB SUMMARY:

The AVP, Branch Operations Manager is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience and providing clarity, focus and motivation to achieve branch excellence. Supports the Branch Manager in achieving superior financial results and expanding existing relationships. Responsible for the administration and efficient daily operation of a full service branch office, including operations, audit & compliance, product sales, customer service, cash control, security, and safety in accordance with the company’s objectives. Performs all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates. To accomplish this, the Branch Operations Manager in partnership with the Branch Manager builds and develops a diverse and high performing branch team.

Responsibilities

  • Supports higher volume branches and handles more complex transactions.

  • Supports the Branch Manager instilling and maintaining a positive sales environment through education of the

  • Bank’s products and services; investigates and follows up on significant changes in status of existing customers;motivates and monitors staff in cross selling and product presentation compared to goals; meets with customersto discuss needs or concerns and outlines appropriate Bank services.

  • Responsible for the overall branch customer experience assisting clients by making deposits and withdrawals,cashing checks, performing transfers, issuing bank checks, performing cash advances, processing loan advancesand loan payments, cashing savings bonds and any other customer transaction as needed.

  • Responsible for creating new deposit relationships, providing a superior level of customer experience andpromoting the sales and service culture.

  • Supports the company’s philosophy of Building Excellence; promotes the corporate culture through coaching,guidance, and staff motivation.

  • Provides leadership, and training; may perform duties in the absence of the Branch Manager.

  • Closely works with the Branch Manager in performing disciplinary actions, and interviewing candidates foremployment; supervises the daily activities of the team including, but not limited to, effective delegation ofassignments, developing work schedules and providing necessary training.

  • Assumes responsibility and is accountable for the operational compliance within the branch including, but notlimited to, teller cash counts, certifications, new and closed account reports, CTR filing, suspicious activityreporting, elder abuse reporting, and staff adherence to company policies and procedures.

  • Works with the Branch Manager to identify and implement marketing strategies and plans events to supportsales.

  • Performs and reviews all the duties of the branch staff to ensure audit compliance and new account reviewrequirements.

  • Oversees daily check scanning, vault settlement, and ATM settlement, night drop deposits, and assists withopening/closing branch procedures.

  • Approves wire transfers up to designated limit and approves exceptions to new accounts, check holds, and CDdiscretionary rate adjustments.

  • Coordinates with Compliance and Branch Administration regarding responses for independent third party andregulatory audits; ensures deficiencies identified from such audits are corrected.

  • Assures audit compliance and procedure quality control and recommends and initiates corrective actions; ensuresthat the branch is in compliance with established Bank policies, procedures and state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federalregulations and laws as they pertain to this position including but not limited to the following: Regulation Z (Truthin Lending Act), Regulation B (Equal Credit Opportunity Act), Fair Housing Act (FHA), Home Mortgage DisclosureAct (HMDA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Bank Secrecy Act(BSA) in conjunction with the USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Customer Information Program(CIP), Right to Financial Privacy Act (RFPA, state and federal) and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).

  • Advanced experience, knowledge and training in progressively responsible branch management and supervisoryactivities, financial statement and tax return preparation, and all lending activities and terminology

  • Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; mainframe computer system; wordprocessing, spreadsheet and specialty software programs

  • Advanced math skills; calculate interest and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide inall units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors;compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs

  • Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carryout instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speakclearly to customers and employees

  • Ability to cross-sell and explain all bank products and services with confidence and authority

  • Ability to make decisions that have moderate impact on the immediate work unit

  • Ability to organize and prioritize own work schedule and the work schedules of others on a short-term and long-termbasis

  • Ability to work with little to no supervision while performing duties

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or University and a minimum of 5 years’ of related experience and/ortraining. Work related experience should consist of branch management operations and/or lending experiencewithin the financial services industry.

  • Prior experience in a Supervisory position preferred.

  • Current California driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage to drive in the course ofperforming assigned duties and responsibilities.

Salary Range : $55,000.00-$95,000.00 USD; Final salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with geographic/market data.
