Overview

THE ROLE:

The Maintenance Reliability Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize maintenance processes, identify, and resolve equipment failures, and implement strategies to increase equipment availability and lifespan. This position requires expertise in maintenance strategies, reliability engineering principles, and root cause analysis techniques. The primary focus of the role is to identify and address maintenance reliability issues, implement preventive & predictive maintenance programs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce downtime.

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:

• Determine best maintenance practices for specific pieces of equipment and/or equipment types.

• Analyzing equipment failure data to identify patterns and trends.

• Conducting root cause analysis to determine the underlying cause of problems.

• Manage and update the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) with accurate and current data.

• Finding new technologies and processes that can improve equipment performance and reliability.

• Developing and implementing training programs for employees

• Collaborating with other departments to ensure that reliability is integrated into all aspects of the organization.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously (Project management)

• Develop an equipment reliability assessment site plan and be the liaison with external vendors and technical experts on maintenance equipment upgrades and troubleshooting.

• Play a large role in developing and implementing the site’s Total Process Reliability (TPR) program.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

Skills

• Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and heating systems.

• Ability to read system schematics.

• Analytical thinking and project management skills.

• Advanced troubleshooting skills.

• Knowledge of EPA and OSHA guidelines, understanding of safety and equipment procedures.

• Good communication and training skills.

• Ability to work with heavy equipment.

Experience

• 7 years of proven work experience as a maintenance or reliability engineer.

• 4-5 years in regulated (GMP) environment (Nutritional, Food, OTC, Pharma, CPG) regulated manufacturing facility (nutraceutical or food and beverage)

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering

• Certified maintenance and reliability professional is preferred.
