Trustmark Associate Director, Creative (Hybrid) in Lake Forest, Illinois

Responsible for employing a hands-on approach, partnering with creative and marketing leadership to drive design and development efforts across all mediums. Present concepts and solutions that make a huge impact on the visual expression of the Trustmark brand. Work collaboratively with our clients to ensure that marketing, product and business needs are met. Help lead the creative charge and inspire the creative team to strive for design excellence.

Design Direction:

  • Brand Development - Execute brand development initiatives to enhance and evolve Trustmark's visual identity across all mediums and platforms, ensuring consistency and alignment with our business goals.

  • Design Systems - Develop and maintain design systems with guidelines that ensure a cohesive visual language with streamlined design processes.

  • Communication Design: To effectively communicate our brand and marketing messages and engage our audiences, create compelling visual content for various channels, including digital, print and social media.

Team Management:

  • In partnership with creative leadership, manage and mentor members of the creative team, providing guidance, feedback and support to foster an effective, collaborative and innovative design environment.

Strategic Problem Solving:

  • Apply strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills to tackle design challenges, improve processes and deliver solutions that meet business objectives.

Client Management:

  • Work Closely with marketing, sales, product and department leadership teams to align design strategies with business goals and present solutions to stakeholders with clarity and confidence.

Project Management:

  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously from ideation to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets and quality standards are met while adapting to changing priorities and demands.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related area of study.

  • 5+ years agency or big brand, in-house experience with 2+ years in a managerial role.

  • Impeccable design skills with a passion for clear, modern composition and typography.

  • Proven track record in brand development and communication design across digital, print and environmental display.

  • UX/UI Design experience showcasing user-centered design solutions.

  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite and Figma

  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to problem-solve strategically.

  • The ability to articulate concepts efficiently and present effectively to teammates and clients.

  • Be accountable for work and wisely manage time across multiple projects and competing priorities to meet agreed upon deadlines.

  • Excellent listening skills to decipher client wishes and filter feedback.

  • Team player who strives for excellence and leads by example, raising up other team members through collaboration and mentorship.

  • Entrepreneurial, service mindset with the ability to perform as part of a cross-functional team or independently.

Preferred/Non-essential Experience:

  • Working knowledge of marketing platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Sprout Social and Digital Asset Management (DAM) platforms.

  • Vector illustration experience.

  • Experience working in After Effects.

  • Photography and advanced photo editing skills.

  • Copywriting and copy-editing skills.
