Responsibilities

Description

The Director, Treasury will report directly to the Vice President, Treasurer and will lead the execution of Pactiv Evergreen’s daily Treasury activities, with a particular focus on banking, cash management and cash flow forecasting. This individual will interact regularly with legal counsel, FP&A, Investor Relations & Strategy, Accounting, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams to create best in class processes and thought leadership to the Treasury function. The ideal candidate is an experienced Treasury professional who will challenge ideas, is proactive, creative and diligent and has high EQ.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead 13-week cash flow forecasting process, include evaluating and improving existing processes and documentation, to ensure that the company’s cash obligations are met in a cost effective manner. Manage movement of funds to meet daily operating needs and reduce debt as appropriate.

  • Analyze cash at the geographic and entity levels and partner with internal constituents to identify cash repatriation opportunities and create an efficient intercompany loan portfolio.

  • Evaluate opportunities to maximize interest income while preserving financial flexibility and safety of principal.

  • Maintain and manage the treasury management workstation, identifying potential opportunities to utilize tools for value-added purposes.

  • Analyze bank fees for accuracy and following up with banks on any discrepancies or fee reduction opportunities. Lead regular reviews of bank accounts for rationalization opportunities.

  • Evaluate and oversee Treasury policies and controls and ensure all Treasury related SOC and SOX requirements are continually met.

  • Manage and expand bank and rating agency relationships.

  • Assist the Treasurer in developing a comprehensive risk management program, including interest rate, foreign currency and commodity hedging. Develop tools to evaluate risk exposure and assess commodity hedging in conjunction with contractual pricing mechanisms. Provide operations with necessary spot exchange funding.

  • Partner with Real Estate to analyze lease vs. buy opportunities.

  • Assist in execution of Enterprise Risk Management program.

  • Assist in management of global insurance program, including Letters of Credit.

  • Manage and develop the Treasury team.

  • Provide financial oversight of the company’s pension plans in the U.S. and Canada, including reviewing asset allocation and funded status, reviewing and recommending investment opportunities, identifying and leading the execution of opportunities to buy out plan participants or wind up the plans, partnering with external advisors and leading regular plan reviews.

  • Provide financial oversight of the company’s non-qualified benefit plans, including assessing the benefits of funding plans, reviewing asset allocation of funded plans, identifying opportunities to wind up certain closed plans and partnering with external advisors and Human Resources to develop educational information for plan participants.

  • Provide financial oversight of the company’s 401k plan, including reviewing performance of fund options relative to benchmarks, assessing existing and new investment options and advisor fees, leading the RFP process of the company’s recordkeeper, partnering with external advisors and Human Resources to develop educational information for plan participants, and leading the quarterly plan reviews with internal constituents and external advisors.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree.

  • 7 or more years of Treasury experience, with a focus on Treasury operations. Experience with Treasury workstations is a plus.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Independent and highly-motivated with a sense of urgency and the ability to get things done.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to utilize data and analysis to receive buy-in from organizational leadership.

  • Experience with cash flow forecasting, including working with internal constituents to increase the rigor and data of the forecasting process.

  • Team-oriented person who can develop relationships and trust with both internal and external constituents and understand how to push external constituents in an effective manner when necessary.

  • Work hours may vary in length and schedule (may include a non-standard work week).

  • Periodic travel may be required.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
