American Battery Solutions Prototype Quality Technician in Lake Orion, Michigan
Job Summary: The Prototype Quality Technician works with and supports the quality organization and technical center departments to continuously improve the performance of the key product and system components in an expanding product portfolio. This role assists the quality engineer, manufacturing, and operations to meet customer requirements. The Prototype Quality Technician works with both the prototype lines as well as the manufacturing production lines. Responsibilities: * Perform incoming inspection and quality checks at all stages of production control operations. * Inspect, evaluate, and provide disposition of components used in the production of electromechanical products. * Identify quality requirements for components to ensure correct parts are received and verified for product quality. * Collect and prepare samples, solutions, test fixtures, tools and ensure safe disposal of waste. * Record, analyze, and write reports, reviews, and summaries on the findings of experiments and trials. * Inspect finished product. * Ensure test equipment is calibrated. * Maintain a safe and clean working environment. * Obtained detailed print specifications from internal customers. * Support the development of the inspection methods and ensure compliance with product specifications. * Review product inspection history to make future inspection decisions. * Communicate with quality engineers regarding quality requirements. * Participate in MRB & NCR meetings to support a resolution of supplier quality issues. * Send Quality reports to Purchasing and internal customers as required. * Work with purchasing to swap out defective components. * Adhere to federal and state regulations. * Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures. * Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned. * Predictable and reliable attendance. Position Qualifications: * High School diploma or GED. * Associated degree or additional education preferred. * Minimum two (2) years of manufacturing or mechanical experience. * College studies in a related field (mechanical or electrical engineering) or prior experience in high voltage/electrical component handling/ battery manufacturing. * Related experience of one (1) year and/or training with batteries and/or battery architecture is preferred. * Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, gages, and a variety of other-dimensional tools is required. * Working knowledge of quality systems and processes. * Proficient with Microsoft Office Software including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint. * Proficient with Excel and agile data analysis tools are required. * The ability to create MS Presentations is preferred.
