Overview

Responsible for leading and executing media strategy and media planning for a Tier II regional automotive advertising account. The ideal candidate for this position has a passion for media and a proven track record of implementing successful media tactics. This person must also possess an attitude of continuous improvement and willingness to always continue learning

This person should have an interest in digital & traditional media, media strategy, media culture as well as establishing successful and positive relationships with teammates and agency partners

Responsibilities

  • Help develop annual media strategy and possess the ability to present and persuade clients on strategy and rationale

  • Work closely with Associate Media Director on tracking and reporting on overall campaign performance of digital & traditional media tactics

  • Help oversee and implement the strategy and media plans for 17 markets in a specified regional territory

  • Regularly gather/prepare all necessary materials and research

  • Work with agency partners to understand optimization needs and handle the implementation of plan revisions

  • Develop media POVs as needed based on client and account team requests

  • Develop and actualize flowcharts and all related documents (i.e.: media budgets, post-buy-analyses, value-added reports, optimizations etc.)

  • Responsible for implementation of plans for assigned markets and an understanding of analytics to provide recommendations and analysis of media plans

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Experience & Training:

  • Experience negotiating media packages across different aspects of media that help accomplish client objectives

  • Understanding of digital & traditional media planning principles

  • Communication:

  • Excellent oral/written communication skills are essential

  • Ability to keep Director of Communications consistently informed

  • Skills:

  • A keen ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Ability to maintain productivity while working at an expedient pace

  • Excellent math skills and ability to work with and understand numbers

  • Must be extremely detail oriented with high attention to accuracy

  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft suite

  • Experience with media resources a plus: Mediatools, MediaBank/OX, Kantar, Nielsen etc.

  • Attitude:

  • Must assume a high degree of professionalism, be a self-starter, quick learner, intuitive, and proactive

  • Must have an outgoing and positive personality with a “nothing is impossible” approach to daily tasks

  • Interest and passion for the industry and emerging media/trends

  • Understanding of all digital & broadcast media terminology in addition to planning philosophies and willingness to learn as new forms of media emerge

  • Understanding of digital media specifically programmatic, social, search, CTV, OTT & audio

  • Prior experience in retail advertising and/or the automotive category is a plus, but not required
