Description:

  • contacting injured customers by telephone and/or in writing to promote premier customer service and provide quick resolution of claims

  • investigating reported customer events to ensure all necessary information is accurately captured should the customer assert a claim

  • managing all customer shopping cart damage and property damage claims to ensure timely and equitable resolution

  • securing physical evidence related to customer events, to assist in claims handling and potential future litigation

  • complying with federally mandated Medicare reporting on settled claims

Year End Bonus:

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November.

In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check.

In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience (if applicable)

  • 1 year of customer service

Or

  • 1 year of retail experience

  • ability to obtain Florida All Lines Adjuster License upon hire as well as reciprocal licenses for all the states that Publix operates in

  • knowledge of general insurance adjusting procedures, rules and ethics

  • knowledge of legal issues and burden of proof relating to GL and Auto negligence in all states Publix operates in

  • knowledge of legal issues and evidentiary standards relating to damages in all states that Publix operates

  • knowledge of risk transfer and notice obligations relating to same

  • ability and willingness to adjust one's style or approach in response to differing circumstances or to work in ambiguous situations

  • ability to self-direct work activities and take action on tasks without direction from a supervisor

  • ability to work productively and effectively when faced with stressful work situations and time pressures

  • ability to manage time so that the priority of the activities determines the timing and amount of attention they receive

  • ability to attend to and verify the accuracy and completeness of detailed information in documents or on the computer, such as prices, quantity, weights, lists or data

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in any discipline

  • 3 years of customer service experience

Or

  • 3 years of retail operations experience

Or

  • 1 year at Publix

  • Actively holds Florida All Lines Adjuster’s License

  • Fluent in second language, preferably Spanish

  • Knowledge of Risk Management Claims System and Medicare Reporting System
