Position Summary The Acute Mental Health department at Children's Minnesota includes our partial hospitalization programs as well as the inpatient mental health unit in St. Paul. These programs provide short term, stabilization services for children and adolescents experiencing acute mental health concerns. These intensive services are designed to address mental health symptoms that pose a safety risk or significant impact to the child or adolescent's daily functioning. MSW interns will practice providing individual, family and group therapy as well as discharge planning, diagnosis and assessment and treatment planning. MSW interns will also learn important elements of working in a short-term crisis stabilization program such as de-escalation techniques and safety planning. Interns will also participate in treatment team rounds and engage in interdisciplinary collaboration to support the treatment planning process. Weekly individual supervision will be provided and MSW interns will have the opportunity attend an additional supervision group with other current MSW interns within Children's Minnesota. MSW interns will also have the opportunity to shadow other therapists and social workers in other departments within Children's Minnesota based on their interests. Schedule: Potential schedule will be 2-3 days per week, Monday-Friday and between the hours of 8 AM-4:30 PM. Final schedule is determined by supervisor and supervisee. Weekend and evening hours are not available for this placement. Education: * Candidates need to be in a Masters-level social work program and completing their clinical (advanced) practicum. Skills and Abilities: *Strong desire and motivation to learn *Ability to work both independently as well as with a team *Time management skills *Comfortable working in a fast-pace, high stress environment The posted pay range represents rates for a grouping of multiple jobs within a salary grade. We carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Children's Minnesota. All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of an occupational health assessment, drug screen, background investigation, and compliance with the U.S. Government Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification.
