Working as a Associate Project Engineer, you will be the authority/support person for various engineering projects in Automation & Electrification Service, Process Automation Energy Industries (PAEN) in Cleveland, Ohio, providing technical details, costs and deliverables for sales proposals. You will be responsible for assisting all aspects of system implementation of a project including loading systems, configuring networks and preparing systems for shipment. In this role, you will prepare and modify various computer and network systems by applying standard design concepts. This position reports to Engineering Manager - Cyber Security Your responsibilities Support ongoing DCS (Distributed control system) system strategies for loading standards for Symphony and 800xA product lines Support engineers and project teams within PAEN region with project design reviews (Computer Specifications, Network Architecture) and direct contract support Assist with performing installations of hardware and software in several environments including Windows based servers with an emphasis on Windows 2019 server Assist with configuring system networks comprised of servers, workstations, communication devices and peripheral equipment Support physical and electronic setup and alteration of computers and system networks to meet customer and contract specifications Assist proposals teams for estimating hours and equipment Support and drive quality efforts in project execution Assist with on site commissioning support Ability and willingness to travel approximately up to 20 percent of the time Your background Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other engineering degree and up to 2 years of experience in configuration of computer systems or networks Knowledge and/or experience administrating Information Systems and Virtual environments preferred Strong technical knowledge of Windows configuration and administration, operating system fundamentals and network components and infrastructure including networking hardware and basic networking theory is preferred Expertise in virtualization, routing and firewalls preferred Strong interpersonal skills to communicate and work with diverse discipline project teams Ability to learn new methods and technologies with attention to detail Candidates must be able to read, write and speak English fluently Position will be based in Cleveland, OH Reimbursement for relocation is not available Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US Benefits Retirement plan Life insurance Disability insurance Wellbeing program Healthcare plan More about us ABB Energy Industries is enabling safe, smart and sustainable projects and operations for businesses across the oil, gas, chemicals, life sciences, power generation and water sectors.
