Lamar Community College Coordinator of Residence And Student Life in Lamar, Colorado

POSITION SUMMARY: The Coordinator of Residence/Student Life is a 12-month, professional live-in position responsible as the sole administrator of the day-to-day operations for the on-campus student housing facilities (residence halls and commons area). The employee coordinates programs and activities for both students living in the campus residence halls, as well as campus-wide student events. Additionally, they will coordinate with the Vice President of Administrative Services and act as the Student Government Association (SGA) Advisor. The coordinator is a member of the LCC Behavior Intervention Team (BIT), Title IX Team, and other campus organizations as assigned.

This position is the direct supervisor of the Resident Advisor (RA) staff, Work-Study students, and the members of the SGA (Officers and Senators); including recruiting, oversight of selection committees, hiring to include oversight of employee paperwork completion, and training. Said supervisees will assist the Coordinator of Residence/Student Life in the completion of duties and expectations.

This position is required to uphold and enforce the institution policies and the Colorado Community College System (CCCS)--along with all local, state, and federal laws in an equitable manner for all students. Enforcement of those policies and laws, particularly those that apply to residents and/or students of this institution should be applied while maintaining a safe and comfortable campus community that supports the Mission Statement. This employee will also comply with all student privacy laws under FERPA (Family Education Rights and Privacy Act) and is a mandatory reporter of any suspected or potential Title IX violation or any other illegal activities. This position must coordinate and work in close cooperation with the Campus Safety Officer in responding to, documenting, and addressing student-involved incidents both within the residence halls and campus-wide.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Administration of the day-to-day operations for the on-campus student housing facilities. This includes Todd-Burch Residence Hall, Prowers House, and Main Street View, both residence halls and commons facilities. Coordination of programs and activities for students living in the residence halls, as well as campus-wide events for all students. Serves as Student Government Advisor, in coordination with the VP of Institutional Effectiveness and Continuous Improvement. Serves as member of the Title IX/Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT), including as a member of the Core BIT. Participates in other campus committees and/or organizations as assigned. Supervises Resident Advisor (RA) staff, Work Study students, and the members of the SGA (Officers and Senators); including recruitment, selection, hiring, and training.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree 1 to 2 years experience working with students and/or customer service. Strong leadership and intrapersonal skills, particularly related to team building, communication, and staff development

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree preferred One year proven supervisory experience Experience working in a college/university, student affairs, and/or related field. Experience planning and executing events or group activities. Experience with student conduct rules and procedures, reporting, and process management preferred. WAGES: $32,000 - $35,000 Annually
