Actalent Engineering Technician in Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Job Title: Engineering TechnicianJob Description

The Engineering Technician has the unique responsibility for bringing early-stage engineering designs to life through prototype fabrication and testing. This role plays a crucial role in supporting this process by providing technical expertise, performing experiments, collecting data, carrying out various tasks, and providing feedback and suggestions. This position requires independent work while simultaneously working and communicating closely with multiple engineers and technicians. Some tasks that the Engineering Technician is asked to perform have either never been attempted before or not attempted under the same constraints. This means that the Engineering Technician is often asked to complete tasks in a short period of time with little, or incomplete information being provided. Close communication between the Project Engineer and the Engineering Technician is required to come up with solutions to challenging problems. The Engineering Technician is a true problem solver with an innovative spirit and a high attention to detail.

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Work Environment

30% in the office design and drafting using SolidWorks for jigs and fixtures or product or machine process adjustments. The other 70% will be on the manufacturing floor doing a wide variety of things such as testing, test collection, test setup, data collection, non-destructive inspection of fabrication, light prototype assembly (mechanically and electrically), 1st article inspection, and other hands-on activities.
