Senior Design Engineer
Responsible for leading & executing Design work packages to ensure that the Design deliverables of an integrated program are in line with the customer, regulatory, business & manufacturing requirements and the product definition.
Responsible for the delivery of technical definition solutions to scope, budget and schedule.
The Role/Core Tasks:
Co-Ordinates, leads & executes Design work package activity with support from internal & external professionals in Design Engineering
Responsible for the creation, configuration, and approval of Design data for the development, production, and in-service support for the entire lifecycle of the product
Plans, sets & executes day-to day goals and objectives for the design work packages
Responsible for managing & executing the design work package deliverables and schedules as needed to meet targets and milestones
Management of design work packages in relation to budget, costs, planning and resources
Ensure all design deliverables are compliant to regulatory technical requirements and specifications & functional requirements of the Customer
Reviews completed design data to ensure clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and product functionality
Ensure all internal & external technical deliverables are met
Support Aircraft integration activity from the customer or integrator
Executes the product change management process
Provides technical leadership and when required, assists in training less experienced engineers to help them diagnose and solve problems and build capabilities
Designs and implements common procedures and standard work across the organization to optimize efficiency and quality
Conducts design analysis on components and/or assemblies to ensure that designs are cost efficient, safe, manufacturable, and reliable
Prepares and carries out original or adaptations to designs and design changes necessitated design issues, general manufacturing problems, and/or customer requirements, to ensure that completed designs meet the established specifications
Experience Required:
Qualification in Engineering or equivalent Aerospace discipline
Highly competent technical professional contributor with Aerospace industry experience
Beneficial is an experience between 3 – and 10 years in this job and Aerospace environment
Works autonomously with limited oversight from manager
Influences others regarding policies, practices, and procedures
Knowledge of CAD system (NX, Solid Edge, CATIA)
Team player
Good communication skills
Fluent in English language (reading and writing)
Fluent in German language (reading and writing)
