Role Overview:

Managing Director (m/ f /d) Sales & Services Germany

We are on the lookout for a seasoned professional to join our team as a Managing Director Germany Sales & Services. This role is a cornerstone of our organization’s success and growth. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a wide array of tasks, ranging from people and health & safety management to embodying the company’s mission and values. This individual will be expected to demonstrate key competencies such as leadership, adaptability, collaboration, people management, and effective communication. This role will be responsible for a specific business unit with 380 employees (10 managers as direct reports) across 3 locations within the Xylem DACH organization.

Location: Langenhagen, Germany. Hybrid working possible.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • People and Health & Safety: Develops and empowers a diverse workforce, demonstrates inclusive leadership, and ensures a safe, efficient, and customer-focused culture. Manages co-determination bodies and forms a strong leadership team.

  • Country Strategy Development and Implementation: Develops and executes business plans for sustainable growth and market recognition. Leads the organization, ensures compliance with regulations, and monitors performance.

  • Profit & Loss Responsibility: Leads sales and profitability growth, ensures alignment with business strategy, achieves budget targets, and manages investments and resources.

  • Stakeholder Management and Representation: Acts as the company representative, understands implications of initiatives for stakeholders, ensures customer satisfaction, and manages stakeholder relationships.

  • Embodying Company Mission and Values: Drives growth through customer focus and continuous improvement, supports a culture of safety and well-being, demonstrates inclusive leadership, and promotes company activities.

  • Leadership & Strategy: Inspires accountability, drives change, establishes quick strategies, and makes decisions to execute the strategy.

  • Adaptability: Manages unpredictable situations and adapts to change.

  • Collaboration:Exhibits strong collaboration skills, including cross-boundary and external collaboration.

  • People Management: Empowers and coaches talent, leads people and teams with an inclusive and team-oriented approach.

  • Communication: Possesses strong communication skills, both oral and written, and can effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:Minimum 10 years of leadership experience inB2Bmarkets and people management, preferably in large multinational organizations.

  • Business Acumen:Solid experience of business in Europe, including crafting strategy with a strong change management approach and driving operational improvements.

  • Leadership:Demonstrates inclusive leadership that enables empowerment, growth, and development of talent, teams, and organization.

  • Skills:Strong collaboration, business management, finance, and project management skills. Proficient in Microsoft products.

  • Languages: Business f luent in German and English.

  • Preferred Qualifications:MBA, Mechanical Engineer, technical sales experience with public utilities, and international project and distribution sales experience. Product knowledge is a plus.
