340B Program Coordinator

Position Summary

The MSU Center for Bleeding and Clotting Disorders 340B Program Coordinator will support the operations for the MSU Hemostasis and Thrombosis 340B program to ensure the achievement of optimal health care provision, compliance with federal regulations and advancement of patient centered programs.

KEY Responsibilities:

Financial Management

  • Oversight of financial activities for the Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC)

  • Works with the department fiscal officer and CBCD Director to monitor monthly financial performance, investigates significant variances, and explain rationale for variances

  • Develops and oversees annual budgets and assists with tracking expenses for each grant account

  • Report monthly product sales to the Hemophilia Alliance to maintain sub PHS pricing through the Alliance contracts

  • Serve as a resource for external audits related to the CBCD program

  • Stays current and oversees all issues with 340B Hemophilia Pharmacy contract programs. Collaborates with contract pharmacy management regarding issues affecting patients, insurers, and reimbursement as appropriate. Audits contract pharmacies to maintain audit readiness.

  • Monitor 340B budgeting and expenditures assuring that program stays within compliance with HRSA regulated guidelines

  • Identification of new 340B specialty pharmacy opportunitie.

  • Monthly auditing 340B patient list for each specialty pharmacy

  • Monthly auditing of 340B factor expenditures

  • Monitoring factor rebate program accumulation

  • Maintenance/auditing of Patient Choice program

Grant Management

  • Completes and oversees grant proposals (including those to HRSA and the CDC) in collaboration with the CBCD Director, develops program budget, completes requested progress reports and sends/assists grants office with invoices for grant reimbursement

  • Facilitate the monitoring of CBCD compliance with contracts and grants, work to develop and implement mitigation strategies for any areas of non-compliance identified

Operations

  • Collaborates with other departments and professionals to streamline operations

  • Leads operational projects within CBCD as they relate to strategic initiatives

  • Develops, monitors, updates, and executes 340B Policy and Procedures manual

Strategic Program Development

  • Works with program director and administration in program planning and business planning support for CBCD

  • Assists with the creation of patient/clinic driven programs to utilize program income

Networking

  • Attends local, regional, and national conferences and/or meetings related to bleeding disorders, as approved.

  • Attends quarterly 340B meetings held by Cascade

  • Collaborates with the Great Lakes Hemophilia Foundation and Hemophilia Alliance

  • Collaborates with the specialty contract pharmacies for factor product inventory management strategies and program-related cost reduction initiatives

    Minimum Requirements

    Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in healthcare, science, or business with coursework in a field related to the medical or ambulatory clinical experience; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in performing tasks related to the area of employment; experience with electronic medical records and electronic scheduling systems; experience in data analysis and reporting; experience in healthcare quality programs; experience in the use of spreadsheet, word processing, and database software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Desired Qualifications

Knowledge equivalent to that which would normally be acquired by completing a Bachelors in Nursing or other related clinical degree.
