HarperCollins Publishers Cherry Picker/Forklift Operator in LaPorte, Indiana
Overview
EARLY out on Fridays for the Summer!
Summer hours: Start Memorial Day and End Labor Day: Work 9 hours, 4 days/week and 4 hours on Friday.
Warehouse open 5:00am to 3:30pm Monday through Thursday and 6am to 12pm pm Friday.
Returning to regular hours of 6:00AM to 2:30PM shift, 40 hours/week some overtime available, after Labor Day.
Hourly wage: $17.00/hour to start.
Benefits start at date of hire.
MUST have Cherry Picker experience.
Must be able to operate forklift to put away product and pick product from racks for orders, unload pallets from trucks and load pallets on trucks, as needed.
Must complete background check and pass drug screen.
Responsibilities
Operate various types of forklifts and Cherry Picker.
Reading and comprehending instructions/procedures/putaway documents.
Good communication skills.
Cleaning area and equipment on a regular basis, sweeping and dusting.
Operate balers, trash compactor, and stretch wrap machine.
Qualifications
HS diploma or GED required.
Basic computer skills not required, but helpful
Perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and be able to count.
Physical Demands:
Frequently required to lift boxes of weights up to 50 lbs.
Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, grasp with hands, lifting and carrying, bend, climbing up and down, crouching, kneeling, balancing, pushing and pulling, use close vision, and use depth perception.
Regularly required to use peripheral vision.
Specific tolerance to heights and ability to move material at different heights.
Handle variations in temperature changes of hot to cold.
