Exciting Opportunity Alert!!!TPI is currently seeking an expereinced Press Operator to lead our Pressroom Department on 2nd shift. This position is onsite and located in Las Vegas, NV!
The pay range for this position is$22-$29per hour plus an additional 7% per hour for shift differential. Compensation is dependent on experience and industry knowledge.
The Lead Press Operator is responsible for operating the Large Format Offset Press and leading their crew. The ideal candidate is responsible for meeting deadlines while ensuring quality product and following strict quality control measures. In addition this person is responsible for efficient make-ready procedures, stocking machines, troubleshooting, and performing routine maintenance on equipment.
Essential Functions
Set up and operate large scale offset printing presses.
Review work orders to determine ink, stock and equipment needed for production.
Install printing plates, rollers, and die in machine according to specifications.
Manually control printing press operation by setting controls, adjusting speed, temperature, inkflow, as well as the position and pressure tolerances of the press.
Monitor operations of running presses and makes necessary adjustments to meet job specifications.
Maintain and clean machines and make routine repairs.
Inspect and examine printed products for print clarity, color accuracy, conformance to specifications and external defects.
Supervise subordinate printing press operators and perform related work.
Requirements
Experience running as lead press operator in a time sensitive printing and production environment.
History of performing well under pressure.
Capable of multi-tasking.
Individual should be very mechanically inclined and possess problem-solving skills.
Good communication and comprehension skills both written and verbal.
Team and goal oriented.
Must be very detailed oriented.
Preferred Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent;
Five years offset press operating experience.
KBA Rapida 106 press operating with aqueous coating and perforating experience preferred.
Physical Demands:Standing for extended periods and frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs. to move palletized load. Frequent reaching, twisting, and gripping up to 25 lbs. to move paper stock. Occasional crouching and use of hand tools during press maintenance. Continuous work in areas containing odors from inks, solvents, and lubricants.
