Lake County Government Benefits Case Manager. in Leadville, Colorado

POSITION: Benefits Case Manager.

DUTIES: The Benefit Case Manager Determines initial and ongoing eligibility for public assistance in Lake County. Supports individuals requesting financial, medical, and food assistance through the County, which includes application support and interviews of applicants. Assesses the client s needs and makes referrals to appropriate services and supports available in the department or community. Assists clients in completing forms and Secures verification of eligibility factors for benefits. Determines eligibility for these programs by interpreting rules, regulations, and policies governing each program area. Authorizes continuation, reduction or termination of benefits. Interfaces, on a daily basis, with a computer system requiring accurate, complete data entry forms eligibility.? Clarifies and interprets appeal rights and procedures to the client. Assesses client s needs and determines financial eligibility for initial applications and for redeterminations of continuing eligibility. Determines the need to recover funds and for referral for fraud investigation s; prepares for and represents the department in evidentiary conferences and state hearings; recognizes and records appropriate documents related to recoveries and retroactive payments. REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from High School or GED equivalent. Two years of full time administrative work experience.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Apply basic math and read, interpret, and apply manual regulations. Develop Understand local office policy and procedures. Develop and maintain working relationships with applicants, recipients, coworkers, advocacy groups, legal representatives, the public and other agencies of the community. Ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality Make an objective distinction between relevant and non-relevant information when making eligibility decisions. Work with individuals in stressful situation while maintaining the highest degree of customer serviceRead and interpret and apply written material Compile several documents; input correct figures and information to accurately compute eligibility and payment. Detect errors and make corrections. Must be willing to submit to a background check.

WAGE: The salary is $53,000.00 - $57,000.00 annually dependent on experience and qualifications. This is a Full-time, non-exempt position. Pay differential available for candidates who are bilingual and bicultural . SHIFTS: This is a full-time, Non-exempt position working 40 hours per week. Working Monday through Friday, hours being approx. 8:00am to 5:00pm. This position is expected to be in office at least 3 days a week with an opportunity to have a hybrid work environment as allowed by Department
