Job Description
A leading energy client of Insight Global is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Kansas City! We are looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer who is passionate about ownership and quality. This role involves leading technical work on EPC projects, influencing standards and procedures, and ensuring quality in the mechanical discipline. Reporting to the Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will collaborate with our EPC team and clients to deliver high-quality results.
Position Responsibilities:
- Manage scope, budget, and schedule for mechanical projects, including change management, while being client-facing.
- Provide third-party mechanical engineering oversight and quality reviews.
- Own mechanical design and potentially serve as the engineer of record.
- Perform or review routine and complex mechanical engineering tasks using current technology and standards.
- Prepare/review P&IDs, equipment layouts, 3D models, piping isometrics, area classifications, sizing calculations, line lists, valve lists, equipment specifications, data sheets, requisitions, and technical bid analysis.
- Collaborate with the EPC team and clients on RFIs, reviews, change orders, and equipment buyout.
- Develop the project team vision, set priorities, and align with operational goals.
- Foster high-performing teams and mentor team members.
- Improve customer satisfaction, work quality, and efficiency.
- Develop, review, and implement guidelines for engineering standardization.
- Stay updated on technology and industry practices and find practical applications.

Skills and Requirements
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 6 years of experience as a mechanical engineer in gas generation, fossil fuel or power generation
Experience preparing P&ID's AND reviewing Isometrics - Registered Professional Engineer null
