REI Bike Assembly Technician - 1st Shift in Lebanon, Tennessee

Our team seeks a Bike Assembly Technician (CBA) to help us create better outdoor experiences by ensuring that REI’s standards are properly applied and maintained in our Central Bike Assembly facility. In this role, you will assist operations in building and maintaining training standards, ensure compliance with bike assembly and act as a central contact for technical CBA questions and initiatives.

Schedule is Full Time: Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm

Responsibilities and Qualifications

How you will be successful:

  • Serves as an example to other employees by consistently demonstrating exemplary work habits, commitment to REI’s quality standards and production process, which contribute to teamwork, productivity, and efficiency. 

  • Develop, maintain, and update training standards required for certification of assembly staff within CBA production line so that output conforms to program standards maintained by Retail Operations. 

  • Maintain and train standards that support updated bike lines or newly introduced models within CBA.

  • Oversees quality audit process, planning sample size, tracking performance and outlining recommendations for process improvements where quality does not meet expectation. 

  • Implement conformance solutions and coordinates steps required on production line that is prescribed by Novara and/or other cycling manufacture.

  • Work as a member of the cycle growth team to plan core models that will be built by CBA and ensures that receipt planning is in line with capacity.

  • Attend Product Safety Review Committee meetings as representative of CBA when required.

  • Maintain parts inventory to support CBA operations and store requests.

  • Provide first line technical response to questions posed by Vendor Returns, Retail Stores, and Direct Sales for all CBA models built.

  • Build and implement process solutions as recommended by CBA development and CBA management.

  • Ensures safe employee operation and adequate maintenance of equipment such as tools required for assembly, testing and box bikes up are trained and operated to standards according to the DC, OSHA and WISH requirements.

Pay Range

$20.70 - $23.00 per hour
