*What Youll Be Doing* This position involves advanced, skilled industrial mechanical work performing and overseeing the maintenance and repair of all electrical, mechanical, and structural equipment relative to the operation of the Towns Water Filtration Facility and Water Pollution Control Facility and all associated facilities within the Towns Department of Utilities. Work involves responsibility for performing and leading maintenance workers in a variety of maintenance and repair tasks. Employees are subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme cold and heat, noise, vibration and working in hazardous conditions, such as confined space and high voltage environments, and working in all types of weather conditions.

Required Qualifications

  • HS/GED.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of responsible experience in industrial electrical, industrial mechanical, facility maintenance and/or repair work; including a minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience as a crew leader or equivalent.
  • Possession of a valid drivers license and a safe driving record.
  • Commercial Drivers License Class B or ability to obtain within one (1) year of employment.
  • Confined Space, Forklift, CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications or ability to obtain within one (1) year of employment.
  • Extensive knowledge of pumps and motors or water and wastewater treatment equipment.
  • Knowledge in MS Suite applications and computer program applications appropriate to the position.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other workplace safety programs.
  • Must be able to respond to assist with emergency repairs on an on-call basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates degree, college course or completion of an electrical, mechanical, SCADA control systems or other associated trade school.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience maintaining a water treatment or wastewater treatment plant.
  • Commercial Drivers License Class A or B
  • Supervisory experience in a similar environment.
  • Knowledge of equipment maintenance procedures and tracking.
  • Process control knowledge of water/sewer pumping operations.
  • Mastery certification in an industrial trade.
  • OSHA 30
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
