The MSAT Lab operates within the Large Molecule Drug Substance (LM DS) platform, which is a segment of the global MSAT organization.

As we work to enhance MSAT capabilities to fully own our current and future commercial products, we are establishing a dedicated MSAT LM DS Lab specializing in Large Molecules (mAbs, complex glycoproteins, bi- & tri-specifics). This lab will house small-scale equipment including 2-10 L bioreactors (fed-batch and continuous perfusion), downstream processing and process analytical lab equipment.

The MSAT Lab will support Life Cycle Management of commercial products and Secondary Technology Transfers. Our lab will conduct satellite runs in Leiden and for EU & Row address complex investigations, process improvements, and serve as a non-routine sample hub.

You will be a key contributor to our team, playing a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the lab, contributing significantly to asset and sample management for global Tech Transfers, and optimizing lab operations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the integration between global project requests and laboratory day to day operations, ensuring efficient use of assets and personnel to support ongoing projects and experiments.

  • Oversee sample management processes, ensuring the accurate and timely availability of samples for analysis and experimentation and developing a global logistics program for our international customers.

  • Coordinate the laboratory's equipment strategy, including maintenance schedules, procurement, and inventory management to ensure optimal functionality and availability.

  • Lead the coordination among teams within the MSAT lab to ensure seamless communication and collaboration on shared projects.

  • Act as a liaison between different lab teams to enhance workflow efficiency and to foster a collaborative culture.

  • Continuously monitor and improve laboratory operational processes to enhance productivity and quality.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols in laboratory operations.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background:

  • Advanced degree (MSc/MBA/PhD) in a relevant field, such as Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience:

  • 4+ years with advanced degree MSc/MBA/Ph.D. or equivalent

  • OR 7+ years of relevant experience and Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • Experience with process optimization, equipment strategies and sample handling for LM operations.

  • Technical Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of large molecule processes for large molecule drug substances.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.

  • Familiarity with financial systems and compliance

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical challenges independently and within a team setting.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to critically evaluate data and draw sound conclusions.
