Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Collections Specialist in Lenexa, Kansas, United States. This role is primarily within the finance industry where you will be tasked with the management of overdue balances and other related tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring the efficient management and collection of overdue balances.

• Collaborating with the department manager to make decisions regarding daily department workflows.

• Functioning as the point of contact for the credit and collections function.

• Understanding and executing the process of applying payments to customer accounts.

• Preparing, analyzing, and distributing Accounts Receivable aging report.

• Monitoring accounts and contacting customers regarding past due balances.

• Making decisions regarding delinquent customer accounts and offering solutions for collection.

• Providing customer service regarding collection issues, processed payments, and resolving customer discrepancies.

• Reviewing commercial charge applications and setting up customer accounts.

• Assisting in the setup of customer data resulting from store acquisitions.

• Coordinating with other departments regarding system and/or technical upgrades. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in answering inbound calls professionally and efficiently

• Demonstrated knowledge in billing functions

• Understanding and previous experience with collection processes

• Proven experience in B2B collections

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion

• Proficiency in using software for accounting and data management

• Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously

• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions independently

• High level of integrity and professional ethics

• Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
