Description
As a Residential Exclusion Apprentice Technician, you'll be a crucial part of our team, protecting customers homes from unwanted pests. You'll conduct comprehensive inspections to identify rodent entry points and implement exclusion measures following the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) standards for pest control. This role combines technical expertise with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of properties to identify rodent activity, harborage areas, and potential entry points.
- Implement effective exclusion methods using traps, sealants, and other exclusion techniques following TDA standards and EPA-approved materials.
- Develop trusting relationships with customers, address their concerns, and deliver exceptional service that exceeds expectations.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance, ensuring your uniform, vehicle, and equipment are always in top condition.
- Work independently while adhering to daily schedules and route plans, demonstrating excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Accurately document all work performed, including inspection findings, exclusion methods used, and customer interactions.
- Collaborate with the service manager to ensure timely completion of service calls and address any customer concerns promptly.
Requirements
::: {bind="html: Job.Requirements"} - Good Communication (written/oral). - Excellent attendance record. - Good driving record. - Computer Skills required. - Ability to tolerate a variety of environmental conditions, i.e., Heat/Cold, Heights and Confined spaces. - High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is desired. - Must be 21 years of age or older. - Following on-the-job training and the requirements, employee is required to complete state certification/licensing process. - Ability to use and navigate electronic tablet/phone, etc.
Physical Demands:
- Able to perform extended periods of walking outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
- Regularly performs tasks requiring reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Regularly performs tasks requiring the technician to review roofs, crawl spaces, and attics for rodent activity.
- May engage in repetitive lifting, twisting, pulling, pushing, and carrying objects up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable wearing a 40 lb. backpack for extended periods.
- Adheres to OSHA respirator requirements when necessary.
- Requires excellent vision, including close-up, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
- Ability to work comfortably in confined spaces such as crawlspaces and attics for prolonged periods.
Driver's Responsibilities:
- Operates a company vehicle safely and efficiently, following pre-assigned daily routes.
- Assumes responsibility for basic vehicle maintenance, including tire condition, replacement, brake checks, and timely oil changes.
- Maintains strict adherence to all safety protocols and relevant driving regulations, reporting any work-related injuries immediately to designated supervisors.
- Complies with established company vehicle usage policies and upholds a clean driving record.
- Promptly reports any auto accidents to the Service Manager within one hour of occurrence.
- Maintains an active Texas driver's license and provides updated copies to Human Resources.
Pay:
- Training Pay - $18.00 per hour
