Job Summary | The Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment department of Plant and Soil Sciences seeks a Human Resources Coordinator. The Human Resources Coordinator serves as the primary HR assistant to the department chair. Responsibilities include scheduling meetings, seminars, conference and meeting rooms, and equipment; providing information and suggestions to the department chair with regard to administrative and personnel needs; handling the administration of all personnel matters in the department including position descriptions, recruiting, appointments, and effort distribution; initiating personnel actions and reporting procedures including oversight of time, leave, and TDL; coordinating personnel-related record keeping and managing departmental personnel files; maintaining knowledge of university HR policies and procedures and ensuring that the department is in compliance; advising faculty and staff on university recruitment and hiring procedures; serving as a contact with International Student and Scholar Services in the UK International Center as needed; and maintaining confidentiality.
