Shire Capital Processes Lead (Associate Director Level) in Lexington, Massachusetts
Responsible for development, implementation, execution, and administration of capital project business processes, including cost estimating, cost control, planning/scheduling, risk management and asset definition/disposition.
Responsible for auditing sites and functions to ensure compliance to applicable business processes.
Ensures that capital engineering meets and complies with all internal and external audit requirements.
Provides leadership in the development of new procedures, standards, and programs.
Fosters an environment of creativity and innovation identifying and optimizing the needed processes in close partnership with functions within and outside engineering such as e.g. PMO’s.
Create and maintain capital project delivery metrics (KPIs).
Review with senior management the suitability and effectiveness of management systems for capital project delivery.
45%: Ensures existing CM processes are maintained, administrated, communicated and relevant stakeholders within engineering are trained
20%: Act as Capital Management liaison with PMO and Site Engineering teams - provide guidance to Capital Management on the need for new processes and or tools and then then work with the Capital Process & Tools lead to develop, implement and train on the tool
10%: Ensures effective application of the processes by auditing CM Projects (based on agreed rules/ thresholds)
10%: Provides information about industry trends and emerging developments/technologies and initiates/drives implementation based on agreement with CM Leadership Team (CMLT)
10%: Creates and maintains metrics and periodically reviews the suitability and effectiveness of the business
5%: Supports CMLT initiatives
Education & Experience Requirements
Master or Bachelor in engineering discipline with minimum of 10 years’ experience in engineering, manufacturing, Quality or related field.
Experienced in managing Capital Projects > $ 5M from Concept Design to Project close out / hand over
Experienced in working in a “fast pace” and multinational environment / working across different global time zones
Experience in pharmaceutical industry
Experienced in Stakeholder Management, facilitation of decision making, presentation,
Certified Senior PM according IPMA or PMI or Master in PM /PPM
Several languages preferred English & German
Requires approximately 15-35% travel (domestic and international)
