Shire Post-Doctorate - DMPK in Lexington, Massachusetts
The Post-Doctoral scientist will be responsible for building quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP) and mechanistic pharmacokinetic (PK)/pharmacodynamic (PD) models in support of drug discovery and development programs. The individual will also support the development of nonclinical models and apply modeling and simulation tools to translate PK/PD outcomes from nonclinical species to human in support of research and development project teams.
Responsibilities (% of Time):
Developing and applying mechanistic PK, PKPD and QSP models for translational support of discovery and development programs.
Building experience with novel animal models that will improve the prediction of antibody PK from animal to humans
Evaluating and implementing modeling and simulation software and in-silico tools in DMPK
PhD in appropriate field in the engineering/pharmaceutical sciences and training in modeling of chemical and biological processes.
Demonstrated ability in modeling and simulation and proficient in the use of common M&S software.
Key Skills and Competencies:
Ability to provide QSP, physiologically-based PK (PBPK) and PK/PD model building expertise.
Ability to develop interdisciplinary collaborations with Research and Development colleagues
Effective communication skills and ability to articulate positions and convey information within RNCD and as needed on GDT program teams
The ideal candidate will be motivated, creative, energetic, resourceful and adaptable, responding constructively to challenging new ideas, information, situations or criticism.
The candidate should have strong mathematical capabilities and experience with modeling software.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to write scientific peer-reviewed publications
