Shire Sr. Training Consultant in Lexington, Massachusetts

Primary Duties

This position is accountable for training strategy and implementation planning for businesses within MA BIO OPS. Will be responsible for managing training projects and improvement initiatives, along with delivering effective training and services.

Responsibilities

70% Training strategy and implementation

20% Manage and maintain training effectiveness checks

10% Assist with regulatory inspections and internal audits as needed

Education and Experience Requirements

Required: BS or BA Degree

  • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Education,

  • Required: Minimum 6 years training experience and 4 years related pharmaceutical and or Biotech industry experience

  • Must have a minimum of 6 years’ experience in educational technologies, project planning and management, customer support and instructional design.

  • Knowledge and extensive experience in performing job task analysis, training gap analysis and creation of competency models.

  • Experience with quality system and regulatory compliance.

  • Knowledge and extensive experience in the development of e-learning, use of instructional design techniques and models and knowledge of learning management systems.

  • Extensive experience with multiple training delivery approaches.

Key Skills, Abilities, and Competencies

  • At a mastery level, understands and implements the ADDIE instructional design model, or equivalent, and adult learning principles.

  • Oversees creation and delivery of state-of-the-art course content and resources for business specific disciplines, including specific technology, compliance topics and qualification/certification programs and on the job training.

  • Facilitates the development of business specific, role-based curricula/competency model(s)

  • Performs job task and training gap analysis. Develops remediation plans as necessary.

  • Ensures compliance training programs, reinforce Shire’s corporate standards and business specific standards.

  • Understands and leverages the linkage between performance and training, contributing to sustained development of an effective MA BIO OPS workforce.

  • Stays current on innovative training approaches and training technology including adult learning research.

  • Provides subject matter expertise for business process, technology and systems.

  • Identifies, evaluates, recommends and implements new technology and approaches to support training needs.

  • Assesses program effectiveness, measures training outcomes, and refines training curriculum to support business needs.

  • Supports training/business internal/external audits.

  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Leads internal project teams.

  • Mentor/coach instructional designers and trainers.

  • Written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to interpret and clearly communicate theory, concepts and practices to a wide variety of audiences.

  • Skilled in meeting facilitation and effectiveness.

Complexity and Problem Solving

High degree of autonomy and self directed activities prioritized according to business need. Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills. Evaluate concerns with considering risk and escalate if necessary.
