Job Description

Group 39 System Administrator

For this position, Group 39 is seeking candidates to join our IT team as a System Administrator: installing, configuring, and updating our IT infrastructure across unclassified and classified environments, establishing and managing user accounts, conducting backup and recovery tasks, implementing technical security controls and maintenance across secure networks and cross domain solutions, and providing day-to-day IT hardware/software support for 70+ users.

Responsibilities

  • Complete operating system installations and troubleshooting for Windows and Linux based operating systems

  • Perform system and network log catching, developing new extraction techniques and presentation for analysis

  • Design group policies and access control lists to ensure compatibility with organizational standards, business rules, and needs

  • Configure and maintain network infrastructure within the LAN between Windows and Linux devices as well as connections to remote locations

  • Assist staff members in day-to-day issues: troubleshooting hardware, software and network problems both on and off-site

  • Identify vulnerabilities across all IT assets and apply patching and other fixes for remediation in a timely manner

  • Assist in developing our growing IT infrastructure. Work on existing projects and help develop new projects aimed at improving the group's IT effectiveness and efficiency

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accredited Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Networking, IT, Cybersecurity degree program or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of three years of experience supporting Windows and Linux systems including configuration management, software installation/configuration, and network configuration

  • Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) tools: Splunk, VMware Aria, etc.

  • Experience in maintaining directory services. (e.g., Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP, etc.)

  • Experience in configuring and utilizing software-based computer protection tools (e.g., firewalls, antivirus software, and endpoint protection)

  • Knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, Dynamic Host Configuration, Domain Name System (DNS), and directory services

  • Experience with virtualization technologies and virtual machine development and maintenance

  • Experience with DoD IT security frameworks, procedures, and tools: RMF, SCAP, Ivanti, Trellix, Nessus

  • Experience identifying cyber threats/vulnerabilities and performing vulnerability remediation

  • Ability to obtain and maintain certification for DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification at IAT Level II

Security Requirements

  • Selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret level DoD security clearance with a willingness to obtain SCI
