Fresenius Medical Care North America VP, Home Therapy - Operations & Systems in Lexington, Massachusetts

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

In conjunction with the Vice President of Home Therapy, this role is responsible for oversight in developing, implementing and executing Home Therapy Initiatives and strategies. Provides strategic direction and leadership regarding Home Therapies Initiatives. Collaborates with peers, Clinical Quality, Education, Regulatory and Technical Services in execution of defined strategies. Ensures optimal and effective attainment of corporate goals, policies and procedures.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Accountable for outstanding customer service to all external and internal customers, including patients, staff, physicians, field management and staff, and payers, including disease management entities.

• Takes initiative and action to respond, resolve and follow up regarding customer service issues with all customers in a timely manner.

• Defines and execute strategy and initiatives of Home Therapies. Provides pertinent oversight and direction for the administration of Home Therapies programs and processes. Develops long and short-term goals and objectives related to improvement of Home Therapies and takes the appropriate steps to achieve the goals.

• Supports the building of collaborative relationships with key Medical Directors and Medical Advisory Board Members to promote Home Therapy Growth. Provides guidance regarding addressing barriers to improvement and promoting evidenced- based and better Home Therapies practices.

• Ensures the appropriate communications between Home Therapies field staff and the relevant Operations management. May prepare written communications for distribution within the groups regarding various initiatives and projects collaborating with the stakeholders as needed.

• Collaborates with Education, Quality, and Home Therapy department leadership to standardize all policy and procedures.

• Establishes standardized training for all new and existing caregivers as well as new and existing patient training.

• Supports and ensures the appropriate training on the Medical Supply Models, and any other business initiatives as appropriate.

• Supports business plans.

• Maintains knowledge of the national marketing plans and partners as necessary.

• Maintains current knowledge regarding community and regional healthcare market and industry issues which may impact the business.

• Maintains knowledge of FME products, services, and strategies in order to support business goals.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• This position requires approximately 50% to 60% travel nationwide.

SUPERVISION:

• Oversees one or more members of the Home Therapies corporate leadership team; director level.

EDUCATION AND REQUIRED CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor’s Degree; Advanced Degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• At least 10 years of experience in health care, preferably in dialysis operations.

• Demonstrated leadership competencies and skills for the position, including excellent communication, customer service, continuous quality improvement, relationship development, results orientation, team building, motivating employees, performance management, and decision making.

• 5+ years’ experience as a Director; or 5+ years’ experience in a senior managerial role.

• Strong management skills with the ability to lead cohesive and productive teams and influence across departments.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management through diplomacy and tact.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
