BAE Systems SCA Supply Technician in Lexington Park, Maryland
Job Description
This position is for an SCA Supply Technician who will support Special Communications Mission Solutions
(SCMS) in California, MD. The selected candidate must be a motivated individual with experience in tracking, receiving, storing, inventorying, purchasing and issuing parts. The selected candidate will work with task leads to develop material requirements for multiple projects operating simultaneously. The work environment is fast paced, with multiple contractors as well as government employees. The candidate will be expected to have effective written and verbal communication skills.
Typical responsibilities include:
Develop and update Master Equipment Lists (MEL) and Master Parts Lists (MPL).
Submit Purchase Requests (PR), and monitor Purchase Orders (PO) awards and deliveries.
Create DD1149s to document the transfer of material to the government.
Request quotes from suppliers, develop acquisition strategies to best benefit the project with the main factors of cost and schedule.
Proactively obtain status on requisitions and provide updates to project managers.
Obtain and use a corporate purchase card, frequently submitting expense reports.
Update and monitor approved supplier list
The hourly rate for this position is set by the Dept of Labor and is not negotiable. Current rate is $35.73.
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
High school diploma and at least 3 years of related experience
Knowledge of DoD supply databases
Ability to identify and resolve conflict
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Attentive to detail
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Familiar with SCMS databases
Familiar with DPAS databases
Pay Information
This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
