The Associate Editor will join an agile and fast-paced team that creates native content for a wide range of advertisers across our brands such as Investopedia, Travel & Leisure, Food & Wine, Real Simple, Parents, PEOPLE, People en Espanol, and others. The ideal candidate should be comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while working closely with art directors, designers, content strategists, marketers, and freelance writers to service our digital, print, and social channels. Strong writing and editing skills are a must, as is comfort and knowledge with multiple style guides and a flexibility to work with other brands as needed. A background in Finance is a plus, and a passion for financial topics-from smart investing to reducing debt, maximizing credit card benefits, and planning for your children's education, retirement, etc.- is preferred.

This is a full-time role reporting to The Foundry's Director of Finance Content.

Essential Job Functions

Responsibilities

* Assign native articles across a variety of DDM brands for a variety of Finance advertisers and provide writers with applicable brand messaging documents and DDM brand style guide info.

* Recruit experienced freelancers to complete assignments, and work to increase the department's list of reliable, knowledgeable writers.

* Conduct thorough first edits of native articles with an eye for balancing DDM brand voice with advertiser messaging points.

* Write engaging content for occasional articles, custom destination landing pages, video outlines and/or scripts, and dark social media posts/Stories across a variety of platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.).

* Track and implement client feedback through multiple rounds of review in a demanding, fast-paced environment.

* Collaborate with designers and photo editors on visual components of written content. * Select strongest images and insert jpegs, and later resized images, in article documents. * Attend internal and client-facing meetings throughout the entirety of campaigns. * Perform daily and weekly administrative tasks including: checking timelines often and

updating project-management document to ensure deadlines for internal/external deliverables are current; generating weekly memo that provides an overview of upcoming meetings/deliverables; sharing live article links with writers;

creating/updating style "cheat sheets" for DDM brands.

* Maintain meticulous attention to detail across written assignments, communications, and file management.

Qualifications and Job Requirements

Education

* Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English/Creative Writing, or equivalent writing/editing experience

Experience

* Minimum of 2 years experience as a writer/editor/copywriter for print and digital publishers or in agency settings

* Experience in or strong interest in Finance and financial topics

* Technical: You know your way around Google Suite and Gmail, Slack, and Airtable (or similar project-tracking tools).

Location

* Ideal candidate is based in the New York City metro area

* Must be available to work a hybrid schedule (3 days a week in the NYC office)

Pay Range

Salary: $62,400 - $71,000

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith's total compensation package for employees.
