Job Purpose/Summary:

To respond to machine breakdowns and liaise with operating personnel to resolve/repair run issues in a busy print manufacturing environment

To maintain a range of automated machinery including regular maintenance of machinery and the use of fault-finding methods to establish cause of breakdowns or machine failures and repair/replace appropriate parts as necessary.

Job Responsibilities/Key accountabilities:

• Investigations of faults and diagnostics - To fault find problems with machines (both electrical and mechanical) using a systematic approach to problems and problem-solving techniques

• Improve and perform maintenance procedures used on all machines on site.

• Log and record duties performed

• Analyse trends in reoccurring faults and breakdowns

• General Housekeeping of stores and engineering areas

• Stocktaking

• Ordering spare parts and components

• Basic electrical repairs

• Participation in improvement projects

• Develop and maintain a professional customer relationship with operators of the machines and work together to improve the flow of communication regarding faults and work in partnership to increase the performance of all machines.

• Work to the expected safety standard.

Qualifications

• Relevant mechanical qualifications desired but not essential

• A third level qualification essential

• Relevant Electrical qualification essential

Knowledge, skills experience

• 5 years experience in automated machinery ideally in a manufacturing/production environment.

• Good level of computer literacy,

• Methodical and ability to priorities workload
