Flexan Buyer in Lincolnshire, Illinois
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Buyer is responsible for purchasing materials, supplies, or equipment for a business. Their duties include negotiating deals with suppliers, researching possible item selections, and taking inventory of current products.
KEY ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver on customer needs
Identify cost reduction opportunities
Develop an effective and accurate system for monitoring purchase orders
Deliver a weekly purchase order report to managers that indicate the invoice number for all closed orders
Working within the management team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned orders
and report back ordered or missing products
Assisting the Supply Chain Manager with maintaining inventory levels and materials regularly
Effectively communicating with the management team to ensure all orders are accurate
Review and maintain reporting on delivery commitments
Prepare purchase orders and bid requests

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Able to work cross-culturally with colleagues and suppliers
Supply chain certification (CSCP, CPIM, CFPIM)
Ability to always maintain confidentiality and project a professional image
Excellent interpersonal skills with good relationship-building skills
Ability to lead projects and negotiate with cross-functional teams and multitask
Excellent oral, written, public relations, and marketing communications skills
Strong administrative and data management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required
Experience in delivering competitive advantage to the business through the development and implementation of sourcing strategies for the spending category
Physical Demands:
The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
The employee is frequently required to sit for extensive periods.
The employee must have the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
Work Environment:
On occasion, the employee may be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels, such as from office equipment.
On occasion, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts while in the warehouse
