Darling Ingredients Administrative Assistant in Linkwood, Maryland

The

Administrative Assistant aids in the completion of all plant office work required to keep accurate information. They manage the daily operations of the front office answering telephones, redirecting calls, taking messages, greeting visitors, sending and receiving faxes and completing reports. Assists the Office Manager and General Manager with record-keeping, data entry, professional memos, and letter writing.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Responsible for answering phone and taking messages as necessary.
  • Assists in typing correspondence, faxing and copying.
  • Distributes all incoming mail; manages outgoing mail.
  • Extensive data entry
  • Monitors all traffic through office.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree.
  • Prior office experience; fax, copier, and printer.
  • Must be able to type and be comfortable using computers.
  • Communicates clearly in verbal and written form.
  • Highly organized; superior time management skills.
  • Excellent math skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, bend, and kneel.
  • Frequently lifts up to 10 lbs.
  • Long periods spent sitting at desk in front of computer screen.
  • Regularly required reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment

Job functions will be carried out in an office environment.
