International Product Engineer in Lisle, Illinois
Position Overview
International is currently seeking a Product Engineer in the Vehicle Engineering team. International's Vehicle Engineering Team plays a central role in all our engineering programs, including model year refresh programs and emerging technologies. We are responsible for vehicle level attributes and requirements, as well as managing development and validation vehicle activities, including vehicle and engine builds. We are responsible for understanding the end goal of the vehicle and features to develop the most optimized validation plan for each project.
Responsibilities
· Establish and execute vehicle level validation plans
· Define build specifications for engineering test vehicles and bucks
· Establish and deliver performance requirements at the vehicle, system, and subsystem level
· Ensure product compliance to vehicle regulatory (FMVSS) requirements
· Lead trade-off decisions between requirements when conflicts arise
· Budget management for Vehicle engineering and product validation throughout program
· Manage gate reviews for programs from concept charter through product launch
· Manage vehicle and engine retrofits when required
· Create/manage risk mitigation plans and elevate any disconnects in ability to meet requirements
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
At least 12 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies and/or computer science experience
At least 2 years of experience leading new technologies or specialized technologies
OR
Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
At least 8 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies and/or computer science experience
At least 2 years of experience leading new technologies or specialized technologies
OR
PhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
At least 5 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies or specialized technologies and/or computer science experience
At least 2 years of experience leading new technologies or specialized technologies
Additional Requirements
- Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
