Navistar, Inc. Sr. Digital Product Owner – Enterprise Master Data Management (MDM) in Lisle, Illinois

Position Overview

Navistar has a great opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Sr. Digital Product Owner – Enterprise Master Data Management (MDM) to lead the development of enterprise MDM solution within Navistar.

Navistar is undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a being a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions and is strongly committed in evolving its digital capabilities and tools.

As the Digital Product Owner, you will be responsible for driving the development and execution of this critical digital product. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of a robust and scalable customer database solution. The solution will be supported by a cross functional team of data stewards, and Navistar’s IT team responsible for the Data & analytics platform services.

This is a hybrid position based in our Lisle, Illinois Corporate Headquarters.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy and Roadmap Development: Execute upon and provide input to the comprehensive strategy and roadmap for the Customer Master Database, aligning with business objectives and priorities.

  • Product Vision: Define and communicate a clear product vision, ensuring alignment across stakeholders and teams.

  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and prioritize requirements, ensuring the database solution meets the needs of various business units.

  • Team Leadership: Lead a multidisciplinary team of developers, analysts, and stakeholders in the development and delivery of the Customer Master Database.

  • Scrum Master: Act as a Scrum Master for the development team, facilitating sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews.

  • Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, providing regular updates on project status, progress, and milestones.

  • Risk Management: Proactively identify risks and issues that may impact project delivery, and develop mitigation plans accordingly.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and integrity of the Customer Master Database through thorough testing and validation processes.

  • User Experience (UX) Design: Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure an intuitive and user-friendly interface for accessing and managing customer data.

  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives for the Customer Master Database, incorporating feedback from stakeholders and end-users to enhance functionality and usability.

  • Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and implement robust security measures to protect customer information.

  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for the Customer Master Database, including user guides, technical specifications, and process documentation.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree

  • At least 6 years of technical project/program management and/or product owner experience

  • At least 3 years of leadership experience

OR

  • Master's degree

  • At least 5 years of technical project/program management and/or product owner experience

  • At least 3 years of leadership experience

OR

  • At least 10 years of technical project/program management and/or product owner experience

  • At least 3 years of leadership experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

Desired Skills

  • Proven experience in product ownership or product management roles, preferably in the development of large-scale digital products or databases.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Experience working in an Agile development environment, preferably as a Scrum Master.

  • Solid understanding of database technologies, data modeling principles, and data management best practices.

  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA, and experience implementing security measures to protect sensitive information.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and drive results.

  • Experience with project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or Trello.

  • Certification in Agile or Product Management (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner) is a plus.
