Typical work of position is listed below: -Installs, maintains and repairs electric power and lighting lines and cables and associated parts of electric and electronic circuits. - Installs raceways, supports, electrical wiring, switches, outlets, fuse boxes, meter, indicating or recording instruments, removing and replacing ceiling tiles when installing or removing ceiling type light fixtures or conduit and wiring. -Disconnects pipes, couplings, hoses, air lines, etc. to facilitate the installation or removal of electric motors and facilitate the installation or removal of electric motors and pumps, electrical appliances. -Installs transformers, converters, circuit breakers and similar electric and electronic equipment where required. -Installs, maintains and repairs annunciator and other communication systems. -Tests and repairs electrical equipment and appliances. -In ships and machinery, installs motors, electronic welding machines and similar equipment. -Tests load factors and electrical control and safety devices and makes repairs. -Maintenance and repair of light and heavy electronic and electric 60 cycle generators and associated control and regulating equipment and machinery. -Installs, maintains, and repairs electric motors, wiring and various manual and automatic control of electric cranes, electronic components of heating systems, and other electrical machinery. -Provides connections to main power source. -Installs and repairs transformers, converters, secondary power, generators, switches, circuit breakers, rheostats and similar devices. -Inspects and tests equipment for operation safety. -Overhauls and repairs electric and electronic equipment, disassembles electric and electronic equipment. -Traces electric and electronic circuits and locates problems or defects, cleans and replaces parts, renews wiring, brushes, electrical connections and re­ insulating ports when necessary. -Lays out, fabricates and assembles switchboards. Installs control on safety devices, transforms, shunts and recording instruments on switchboards and panels. -Repairs and adjusts meters and control instruments. -Tests equipment for proper operation, safety and accuracy. -Fabricates various electrical parts, using various materials of appropriate conducting resisting on insulating properties Assists High Voltage Electricians with overhead, underground, and substation electrical work. -Maintains switch gear, splicing cable, working out of bucket truck. -Has journeyman knowledge and skill of the electrician trade. -Reads and interprets blueprints, work orders, specifications, sketches and to use electrical instruments such as ohmmeters, ammeters, voltmeters, phase rotation indicators, industrial analyzers, wheatsone bridges, rheostats, meggers, hi­ pot tester, oil testing equipment, and variable inductances. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
